Rottnest Island in Western Australia is only a 25 minute ferry trip from Fremantle. A former Perth resident, it had been 20 years since visiting Rotto and I wish I had returned sooner! The beaches are stunning and the 3 forms of transport are on foot, by bicycle or a shuttle bus to explore the island. Perfect for families and an idyllic setting to get active or simply relax.
For me a break from the everyday life routine is an opportunity to slow down the day, re-energise both physically and mentally, spend time with the family and have some nice moments just to myself.
